Rob is Director of Insight on ATB Financial’s Economics and Research Team. At ATB, Rob digs into the economic and social forces that are important to Albertans and shares these findings across the province.
Before joining ATB, Rob was Vice-President of Research at the Canada West Foundation where he spent two decades analyzing and commenting on a broad range of economic, social and public policy issues.
Rob is also a senior fellow with the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies and an instructor at the University of Alberta’s National Advanced Certificate Local Authority Administration program.
Rob is the co-author of two books with ATB's Chief Economist Todd Hirsch, The Boiling Frog Dilemma: Saving Canada from Economic Decline and Spiders in Space: Successfully Adapting to Unwanted Change.
Rob grew up in Calgary and holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
