Nada's Story

Nada Khatib is a Canadian artist originally from Toronto and currently residing in Calgary, Alberta. She is self-taught and has been painting for over 12 years. In 2018, Nada was fortunate enough to pursue art full time and now sells her paintings as well as teaches drawing and painting.

Nada paints with with high quality acrylics and uses various tools including palette knives to create thick and lively texture. Bold and thick paint have a special way of making her feel alive and they are essential to her self expression. Nada pulls her inspiration from mother nature, her travels around the world and the beautiful people she has met along the way. She especially enjoys painting colourful, vivid and textured contemporary paintings.

Nada has sold over 150 original paintings and they are all around the world.

Why Calgary?

I felt that Calgary was a friendly city, that was a comfortable size, which allowed easy maneuvering. Calgary is also very community oriented and affordable compared to other major Canadian cities like Toronto and Vancouver. Lastly, as an artist, I felt Calgary was the perfect place to start my art career because the art community is not overwhelmingly large so I found it realistic and achievable to make a name for myself here.
