Jermyn is a young business professional focusing on accounting and communications who is passionate about increasing community & political engagement. He is an active community volunteer; Jermyn has been either a member or volunteered with numerous political campaigns and community & non-profit organizations. Jermyn serves as the Board President of the Canadian Club Calgary and on the boards of the Marda Loop Justice Film Festival and Federation of Calgary Communities, which represents 20,000 local volunteers. He is also a member of the Calgary Public Library Foundation Champions Council, Students’ Association of Mount Royal University Board Advisory Committee & Rotary District 5360 Communications Committee. He is a past board member of Variety Alberta, Société Macdonald-Cartier Society and Students Association of Mount Royal University & volunteers with various community organizations including Startup Calgary and Shaw Charity Classic.
His previous experience includes working at both the federal & provincial (Alberta) levels of governments, in addition to the private and non-profit sectors in accounting, administration, communications and marketing related roles.
Mr. Voon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management (Marketing & Accounting focus) and a Business Administration Diploma, both from Mount Royal University's Bissett School of Business. He has also completed the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD-Rotman) ‘Not-for-Profit’ Governance Essentials Certificate Program from University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, onBoard Canada's Board Governance Fundamentals Certificate Course from Ryerson University and the Professional Accounting Program through SAIT. Jermyn is currently pursuing his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
